DRIVING DIRECTIONS

FROM NASHVILLE AIRPORT- Follow signs on the traffic circle for Interstate
40 WEST. Once on I-40 move into either of the two leftmost lanes and watch
for signs for I-24 EAST (Chattanooga). Stay on 24 EAST about thirty miles
to EXIT 78-B (Murfreesboro). Upon exiting (the B is important), the Garden
Plaza Hotel will be about half a mile ahead, on the left. This is route 96, Old Fort Parkway.

FROM THE EAST- If you will be using INTERSTATE 40 from anywhere much east
of the Nashville Airport, look for signs for route 840-Murfreesboro. Take
840 until it reaches INTERSTATE 24, and take that East (Chattanooga). The
next Exit will be 78 (Murfreesboro). Take the B ramp, and the Garden Plaza
Hotel will be about a half mile ahead, on the left.

FROM THE WEST- If you will be using INTERSTATE 40 from the West and want
to stay on highways, read on. A scenic route follows. I-40 to the 440
Parkway East- (a cutoff just south of downtown Nashville). Take 440 East to
INTERSTATE 24 EAST (Chattanooga). Stay on I-24 about 30 miles to EXIT 78-B
(Murfreesboro). Upon exiting, the Garden Plaza Hotel will be half a mile
ahead, on the left. SCENIC ROUTE- It will take longer, but you can get off
I-40 at Fairview and folow signs to Highway 100 toward Nashville. Pick up Route 96 East and stay on that about 40-50 miles (it's a two laner through Franklin to Murfreesboro). Don't miss the George Jones Memorial (almost) bridge not far East of
I-65 on 96. This route will bring you into Murfreesboro and you'll find the Garden Plaza Hotel on the left, just after the I-24 overpass.

FROM THE NORTH- The closest N-S Interstate (other than 24) is INTERSTATE
65. There is an interchange just South of Nashville with the 440 Parkway.
Use the 440 Parkway EAST to switch over to I-24 EAST (Chattanooga-
Southeast, actually). Stay on I-24 about 30 miles to EXIT 78-B
(Murfreesboro). Upon exiting, the Garden Plaza Hotel will be about half a
mile ahead on the left.

FROM THE SOUTH- The closest true N-S Interstate is I-65. Your best bet,
though somewhat slow and scenic is to take I-65 to Franklin (Route 96) and head
East. It's a two laner of about 30-35, miles but it will bring you right
into Murfreesboro, and the Garden Plaza Hotel will be on the left. Don't
miss the George Jones Memorial (almost) bridge on 96 not far East of
I-24.

FROM THE HOTEL TO CAMPUS- Scenic Route (through downtown M'boro)
Exit the hotel to Old Fort Parkway. Make a left at the light. Go four lights to NW Broad and turn RIGHT (there will be a Krystal fast food joint on the right). Go one light to Main Street and turn left. Proceed to the town square and go half way around it, to continue on Main Street (you can't go straight, the county courthouse is in the way). After two lights you will see the University campus on the left. Use the main entrance (marked by an obelisk) and follow the main drive along the length of campus (bear right after the admin. building). At the second stop sign, turn left. Go one stop sign and turn left again. The Mass Comm building will be ahead of you on the right. Park where there is space. If you have not gotten an MTSU parking pass yet, ask at the Registration table or see Paul Fischer.

QUICKER ROUTE-Exit the hotel to Old Fort Parkway and turn right. Get on INTERSTATE 24 EAST (away from Nashville). Go ONE EXIT to 81-B (again, the B is important), still Murfreesboro. At the first light (Rutherford Bl., Wendy's on Right), turn
RIGHT. Stay on this road through four lights (4-5 miles, some of it pretty barren-- the fourth light is Main Street). After Main Street you will come alongside the back end of the MTSU campus. Turn left on "Second Street-MTSU" (the sign is small-- it's the first non-residential street). Go to the first stop sign and turn left. From there go to the first stop sign and turn right. The first building on the right is the Bragg Mass
Communication Center. Park conveniently and come on in. If you don't have
